IBA’s Claims- and Why They Don’t Matter

The IBA (International Boxing Association), which had previously banned Imane from participating in World Championship in 2023 on the basis of the sex tests, has been stripped off as a legitimate governing body of boxing since 2019, due to its President Umar Kremlev’s alleged ties with the Russian Organised Crime and constant misconduct and unfair practices.

IOC’s Support

While the childhood pictures of Imane Khelif surfaced online, proving she is indeed a woman, the IOC (International Olympic Committee) stood with the Algerian, with President Thomas Bach clarifying that Imane was “born and raised as a woman, has competed as a woman, and has passport as a woman”-- declaring IBA’s arguable tests as null and void
