The Election Commission of India (ECI) has made electoral bond data public.

The information of the data was sourced from the State Bank of India (SBI) and disclosed by ECI.

This move was taken with the Supreme Court’s order to give emphasis on transparency.

The data released includes details of donors who purchased the electoral bonds and political parties who received them.

The supreme court directed the ECI to provide information on their website on Mar 15,2024.

Lakshmi Mittal (An industrialist)

Major political parties and their bonds

Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) receives the maximum amount of funds through electoral bonds at Rs 6,986.5 cr.

Trinamool Congress received Rs 1,397 crore followed by  Congress Rs 1,334 crore and BRS Rs 1,322 crore.

Former Telangana CM K.Chandrasekhar Rao led Bhartiya Rashtra Samithi (BRS) is the fourth largest recipient of funds.

The BRS encashed bonds worth of Rs 1,322 crore as per the data of the poll panel

Naveen Patnaik’s Biju Dal (BJD) received electoral bonds worth Rs 944.50.

Andhra Pradesh CM Jagan Mohan Reddy-led YSR Congress (Rs 442.80 crore)

N Chandrababu Naidu's Telugu Desam Party or TDP (Rs 181.35 crore).
